Rowan had 6:30am tennis with Richard, we woke up not long after 5am, the sun already beating in. We had left all the sliding doors open and a breeze had picked up that whisked our sheet off like a sail! I was wide awake and spent the morning catching up finally with the blog with the good signal. We couldn't decide whether to stay a second night, but the luxurious relaxing was too hard to give up, so it didn't take much persuasion to stay another night.
We had a relaxing morning at the beach, just plucked up enough energy in the heat to have a lovely gentle paddle over to the tiny sandy island on the reef.

My favourite spot, lemurs in front and back and then a snake!

Snake at the pool.
Some more local guests arrived before lunch, 3 English couples who have all lived on the island for over 40 years. They were so chuffed to be able to come and stay at the bargain locals rate. Very interesting talking to them, they love it here, to have stayed so long and are well entrenched into a thriving ex pat community. After lunch we all went and fed the lemurs some treats in their enclosure. Very cute they jump ever so softly onto any shoulder they see vacant looking for treats. Really soft little pads.

I hope my sister Widge, spots the South African top she bought me over 20 years ago!

Found a tortoise in their enclosure, such a wonderful pattern on it's shell.

Kayaking across to the little sandy island, looking back at Necker island.

PolePole moored at Necker.

Sea sand has a hint of pink from the coral. Forgot to ask why they had fake palm trees on the island, I think real ones would not survive out there.

Walking back up to the main house we spotted this cute little baby.

Tortoises have right of way even indoors, which I know my friend Isobel will be pleased to see!
Rowan played late afternoon tennis with Richard, the pro and her father who is a coach. They didn’t play too long, even under Richard’s new covered court it was very hot. Way too hot and energetic for me. We have found that it has got a lot hotter here since arriving in the BVI.
I was on our balcony catching up on the blog when the flamingo's came and did their bed time ritual of flying round and round the island. It really was spectacular, they are such ungainly long birds but look so elegant in the air.

Supper on another lovely terrace.
What was the tennis 🎾 score Rowan ? Game, set and match to.....?
