We got going bright and early with a good gentle wind. All went to plan and we passed Union Island and Mustique in the far distance and look forward to coming back and exploring.

Watching the islands fly by

After a cooked breakfast Rowan decided he wanted to get the big genaker sail out as it was perfect conditions for it. A little scary as this meant hand feeding it out of the forward locker without it getting into a terrible tangle. With a couple of minor issues and ropes whipping about in a frenzy we finally got it up and we roared along with the increased sail area for a couple of hours. The wind died in the afternoon and we decided to get it in before we came out of the lee of the island. Rowan has got it sussed and we managed to manually feed it back into the locker without difficulty.

We passed Martinique in the evening and our many anchorages which brought back memories. Another wonderful sunset......with no sundowners! We don't drink alcohol on our overnight passages!

Rowan cooked up a delicious chicken, rice and vegetables in one pan that went down very well. We watched a couple of episodes of the Queen’s Gambit before our long night watch began. The wind picked up so we made the bed upstairs so it was much quieter than sleeping down in the hull with the noise of the waves crashing into the sides.
